About 3 months ago my fella's sister gave me her Scentsy kit. In the kit it included a Scentsy warmer lamp, and 4 Scentsy wax scents to burn in the wax warmer.
I initially thought the whole concept was another silly gimmick, and I never was really into burning wax warms in the past because a lot of them smelled like crayons; a gross fake waxy smell that just never sat well with me.
However seeing that she was giving it to me for free, I went ahead and took it. Far be it for me to turn down freebies!
The scents she gave me were all floral scented and I am not to keen on florals because they just remind me of funerals, and that is not a scent I wish to embrace in my home.
I went out and bought these Better Home and Garden waxes and decided to burn some scents that I enjoy more. Cookie scents, outdoorsy smells, and fall flavors like butterscotch, pumpkin, gingerbread and so on. I am more into the baked scents than anything else.
I plopped one in and waited. It took the Scentsy lamp about 20 minutes to finally begin to melt the wax, but once it did, I was pleasantly surprised at just howe powerful the waxes were, and how realistic they smelled.
After burning through 2 cubes of my Better Homes waxes, I decided to give the name brand Scentsy wax cubes a try to see how they added up against the much cheaper Better Homes wax cubes.
The Verdict:
Both burn beautifully. Only the Better Homes waxes gives you the same amount of wax, with scents just as delicious for more than half the cost of the Scentsy waxes. I know who I am getting my waxes from, from now on! Walmart sells the Better Homes waxes for $2.00
You can also find the wax burners for a heck of a lot cheaper than Scentsys burners!
