My Review of the Honeywell Tru Hepa Air Purifier

My review also on YAHOO VOICES

The main reason that we bought the Honeywell True Hepa Air Purifier Model # 50255-HD, was die to the fact that before buying our home we needed the entire basement needed remediation of mold before we could get a loan.

Naturally we had to pay a high price for a company to come in and do that, however during the process we decided to go out and buy the Honeywell True Hepa Air Purifier Model 50255-HD to leave it running in the upper level of the home due to any spores that may escape the contamination are and release into other levels of the home.

Not only for that reason, but in case the bank requested a chemical test we wanted to make 100% sure that no molds were found in an overabundance during the second test, because believe me, these tests are not cheap.

We went with this model due to all of the promises. It filters the air 5 times an hour, it will clean air of 99.97% of all airborne irritants, and it will freshen air and make breathing easier. More or less the effects would best be felt by someone with a lot of allergies.

We wanted it not only for mold but to see how it would freshen the air, to see if our breathing and air quality would improve. I used to have this salt lamp that literally would make the air you would breath in smell like mountain air, and you could tell there was a change in quality of the air, and for the better.

This small rock was capable of doing that, so I predicted that the Honeywell True Hepa Air Purifier Model 50255-HD would do that, at a much higher rate of purity. I had high hopes for it, considering the high price attached to it.

Installation:

Putting the Honeywell True Hepa Air Purifier Model 50255-HD together was simple, however in our first box, someone had stole the carbon filter, which is the black filter that goes around the inside filter. We had to return it and get another one. I was not all happy with Home Depot for just plopping a used item back on the shelf and selling it for the same price, as clearly someone opened it, and returned it because no plastic was on the machine we got at all.

Once we finally had a unit that had not been stolen from, we were in business, and it only took a minute to put everything together.

There are 3 settings on the unit, the highest of course being the most efficient but also the setting that produces the most wind/noise.

When on, the unit sucks air in from the environment, and then pushes it back out as new clean filtered air.
The only things I could tell that was different in the air was the temperature. Sadly the air quality did not seem any more different or fresh.

We leave this unit on for days at a time, and at night my other half is still snoring. We read testimonial reviews that stated it helped with those whom snore. Sadly that was not the case for us, and so far there is no way to truly test the quality of the air without paying for an air quality test, which is far too expensive for me to do.
Overall:

I am not sure if it works, it seems to suck the air in and push it out, but the quality of the air seems exactly the same to me. My little $30 salt lamp seemed to do more!
